Little Relay privacy policy

What Little Relay stores

The app stores information you enter: child names or nicknames, stage, optional birth or due dates, caregiver names, care records, timers, notes, tasks, care cards, handoffs, milk inventory and appointment questions. Records can include feeding, diaper changes, sleep, growth, temperature, medicine notes, pregnancy sessions, pumping and rest. These may contain sensitive family or health information. We use them to provide your journal, summaries, timers, reminders, exports and optional sharing.

The app includes no advertising, cross-app tracking or third-party analytics SDKs. It does not read HealthKit, location, contacts, microphone or camera data. We do not sell your records or use them for advertising.

Where data is stored

Solo tracking needs no separate Little Relay account. Records are stored on your iPhone using iOS file protection, available to the app after the first unlock following a restart so Lock Screen controls can save. The journal is included in your device’s own backup (iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer) when you have backups turned on. Those backups are stored by Apple or on your computer under your Apple Account settings, not by Cloudshadow Studios. Export a full backup if you want a separate copy.

If you enable family sharing, Apple CloudKit stores the shared journal using the participants' Apple accounts. Invited caregivers can read, add and edit shared baby records, timers, tasks, handoffs, care cards and all included child profiles. Profile information, including a pregnancy stage or due date if entered, is shared. Apple-provided participant identifiers and available names identify caregivers and confirm handoffs. The current model has no separate restricted babysitter or per-child access roles.

Pregnancy activity records, pumping, personal rest, milk inventory and appointment questions are excluded from the family-sharing payload. Information you deliberately copy into shared notes or care cards is shared. Cloudshadow Studios does not operate a separate server that receives your journal. Apple processes iCloud information under its privacy policy.

Watch, Lock Screen and exports

The paired Apple Watch receives child summaries, supported timers and handoff information from the iPhone; actions return to the iPhone. Summaries may remain cached on the Watch. Optional Live Activities show timer information and controls on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, where someone with access to your device may see or use them. You can turn off Lock Screen timers in the app. Local reminders require notification permission.

You decide when to import or export files. A full backup includes private local records. Exported reports, spreadsheets and backups leave the protected journal through the destination you choose; recipients may retain copies after you delete records or change sharing access.

Purchases

If Family subscriptions are enabled, Apple processes the purchase and renewal. Little Relay receives the subscription entitlement needed to unlock the purchased Family features. Payment details are handled by Apple and are not stored by Little Relay.

Your choices

Local records remain until you delete them, clear the local journal or remove the app. Edits and deletions of shared records sync when synchronization succeeds. The owner can manage invitations or delete the shared iCloud journal; invited caregivers can leave it. Clearing only the local journal does not delete its shared iCloud copy. Delete shared data first if you intend to remove both. Removing access cannot erase copies a caregiver already exported or retained, and offline devices may not reflect changes immediately.

You can export your journal from You → Your records. Deleting the app or journal does not cancel a subscription; manage renewal in Apple account subscription settings. We cannot recover an unshared local journal deleted without a backup.

If you email support, our email provider delivers your address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use these to respond and troubleshoot, retaining correspondence as needed for support or legal requirements. Do not send passwords or Apple credentials. Contact the address above for access, correction or deletion requests, including deletion of support correspondence. Rights available to you depend on where you live.

Children’s information

Little Relay is intended for adult parents and caregivers. Children do not create app accounts. Use a nickname if you prefer, and only enter or share information about children whose care you are authorized to manage.

This website

Our policy and support pages use GitHub Pages. We add no advertising, analytics or tracking scripts. GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security, as described in its privacy statement. Email links open your chosen email app.
